Ms. Zetts’ Physical Education Grading Policy ÒõAPPµ¼º½
Our PE department follows curriculum based on the California State Standards to provide developmentally appropriate instruction that increases each student’s knowledge, skills, and confidence in order to have an active and healthy lifestyle.
The following are the three grading opportunities for each student and an explanation of each category:
ACADEMIC GRADING (EACH UNIT)A. Written Tests & Quizzes (vocabulary & rules of the game)
B. Skills Tests (demonstrate skills learned)
C. Performance (knowledge of positions & strategies)
D. Homework (review and practice vocabulary)
CITIZENSHIP GRADING
The citizenship grade is based on a student’s ability to be an encouraging and helpful leader to others. Students also need to demonstrate the ability listen, follow directions and stay on-task during class activities. Being responsible and wearing your PE clothes and shoes each day has a positive impact on this grade.
EFFORT GRADING
Students are required to attend class regularly and complete all assignments. Missing assignments must be made up. Students should ask about missed work and schedule a make-up. Failure to do so will result in a lower grade. Daily participation in all activities is also an important part of this grade.Parents: My email address is zettsk@cajonvalley.net.
