I am so excited to welcome you to Room 25! This is my first year at Fuerte and my twelfth year in the ÒõAPPµ¼º½ Valley School District. I have taught fifth, fourth and third grades. I grew up in San Diego and graduated from SDSU with bachelors. Last year I went back to school and received my masters in Health and Wellness Education from the American College of Education.

When I’m not teaching, I love to workout (fitness is a passion of mine). I also love cooking, reading, listening to podcasts, and watching shows on Netflix.

Third grade is such an amazing year for students! There’s a huge shift from learning to read, to reading to learn. My goal is to nurture a love of reading all genres while reinforcing useful reading strategies. We will also focus on becoming stronger authors writing personal narratives, informative, and opinion pieces as well as adapted fairy tales. In math, we will build a solid foundation with a focus on multiplication, fractions and problem solving.
