Hi! Welcome to Mrs. McDaniel’s page. This will be my 18th year teaching, my 9th year here at Fuerte and my 11th year as a 5th grade teacher. I spent six years teaching 7th grade and one year teaching 3rd grade. I love all grade levels, but 5th grade is super special!

I grew up here in East county and went to Fuerte, Montgomery, and Valhalla. I went to UC Davis for my undergrad, SDSU for my teaching credential and Concordia University for my master’s degree.

I think I’ve always wanted to be a teacher, well for as long as I can remember. Teaching and working with others is something I genuinely enjoy and feel lucky everyday that I get to be here working with each of you!

In addition to teaching, I love spending time with my husband and three kids (ages 4, 10, and 12). We like to enjoy all the activities that San Diego has to offer plus traveling when we get the chance. We are often found at sport field around the area as we have a busy life just like you! Personally, I love to shop, read, exercise and eat.

I hope you are ready for a fun-filled year. In 5th grade we believe you work hard to play hard!
