Chuck Courtney served as Head Gold Professional at Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club for 21 years from 1983-2004. Chuck grew up in La Jolla, about 20 miles from Rancho Santa Fe. As an amateur, Chuck won the San Diego City Championship in 1958 and the San Diego Country Open in 1960 and qualified for the United States Open Championship in 1960 and 1962. The Chuck Courtney Honorary Scholarship Fund (CCHSF) was created by the friends and members of the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club to honor Chuck’s devotion to the game of golf and his support, encouragement and mentoring of local young golfers.
