On Sunday, April 28th the Point Loma Kiwanis Club hosted (and SOLD OUT!) their very first golf tournament, which took place at Sail Ho Golf Club in Liberty Station. Led by tournament co-chairs Mark Chrisman and Dena Riso, and with the support of several generous local sponsors, the PLK raised funds for Silver Gate Elementary School and new iPads for the classrooms.
Players arrived to a perfect Spring day as they checked in and received their gift bags which included a logo baseball cap from Kathy O’Brien and Sun Harbor Marina, and enjoyed a complimentary beverage of their choice provided by Dena Riso and Peninsula Hearing

. Waiting for them on the golf course were several contests as well as sponsors that hosted a variety of games and services. Mark Chrisman and West Coast Mortgage provided amazing hole-in-one prizes on four different holes, including Mark’s very own Harley Davidson which he put up as a grand prize on #9! Corey Wyatt from AboutProperties got quite creative and ran the very popular “Marshmallow Contest” where players waiting on the tee box were invited to try and hit a marshmallow into a circle using a left-handed hockey stick. At the end of the event a winner was determined and Corey donated $100 to Silver Gate on behalf of the player. Creative and fun!! As the golfers came off the course they were greeted by non-golfing family and friends who joined them for the post golf dinner reception and raffle on the patio. Cosmic Pops and The Radonich Family sponsored the “Kids Table” where children had the chance to color, make bracelets and play several outside games, and everyone feasted on fresh-off-the-grill Mexican fare.[button color=”green” link=”https://www.facebook.com/media/set/edit/a.529371200461786.1073741829.139699952762248/” size=”small”] Click here to see our Photo Gallery [/button]
